Just Reporting Network Statement

A statement in solidarity with Palestinian colleagues.

7.1.2024

JRN stands in solidarity with our Palestinian colleagues.

We mourn the tragic loss of Harza Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya, who were killed by an Israeli missile strike in Khan Younis, Gaza, where they were courageously reporting on the plight of displaced civilians.

Regrettably, this is not an isolated incident. The distressing reality is that more than 100 journalists have been killed since 7 October 2023 during the Israeli war on Gaza.

JRN strongly condemns the targeting of journalists and urges the international community to use all means of pressure to stop the killing of our dedicated colleagues in Gaza. It is critical that those responsible are held to account.

The journalists and media workers who risk their lives to bring us the truth must be protected.
